From ADHD to Empowerment: My Journey to Health and Human Performance
Hi, I’m Nic, a passionate coach with 15 years of experience in health and human performance. I’m also a husband, father, and business owner, roles I was once told I’d never achieve.
My journey has been anything but ordinary. Diagnosed with ADHD at age 7, I faced a host of challenges—learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation. But over time, I learned to take control of my body and mind, transforming obstacles into opportunities.
Today, I use that journey to empower others to understand and work with their bodies and minds, helping them achieve balance, resilience, and wellness.
From Childhood Weights to Holistic Coaching
When I was 7, my dad brought home a weight set to help me manage my ADHD energy. What started as a way to stay active quickly became a passion and a tool for shaping my mental and physical resilience.
But like many others, I struggled. Burnout, overwhelm, and the constant feeling of being “too much” weighed heavily on me. By the time I turned 30, I hit a low point, depression and anxiety had taken hold. I realized lifting weights alone wasn’t enough. I still didn’t have control over my mind.
That’s when everything changed. I began studying the nervous system, breath work, and mental health, digging deep to understand the systems driving my behaviors.
Reframing ADHD and Taking Control
What I learned was life-changing. ADHD wasn’t a limitation; it was a framework for understanding how I was wired. The “byproducts” of my diagnosis; poor impulse control, emotional dysregulation, and anxiety, weren’t fixed flaws. They were areas where I could grow and improve.
Through breathwork and nervous system training, I developed the tools to build my stress tolerance, regulate my emotions, and take ownership of my life. The voices of others were replaced by my own, and I stopped using ADHD as an excuse. Instead, it became a lens through which I could empower myself and now, others.
